Progress In High Temperature Superconductivity - Böcker

This proceedings contains the works of both experimental and theoretical aspects of high temperature superconductivity with special emphasis on the results obtained by nuclear methods (e.g. neutron scattering, μSR, positron annihilation and Mössbauer spectroscopy).

This Conference is designed to cover the entire field of current-carrying properties of superconductors, either metallic alloys or the new high-Tc metallic oxides. Related topics will be treated as well as the large scale applications. Topics covered include magnetization and flux behaviour, current transport and critical currents, Josephson junctions and proximity effect, microwave absorption and rf surface resistance, thermal conductivity and specific heat, Hall effect and thermoelectric power, thermal fluctuations and paraconductivity, applications of high-Tc materials.

This Proceedings is dedicated to the topic of high temperature superconductors. It consists of invited talks by experts on the current status and development of ceramic superconductors.

The subject of the School is on the theory and phenomenology of "classical" superconductivity. However, the selection and treatment of the different topics is done in the perspective of the new, "high Tc'' materials, in order to clarify what is already contained in the BCS frame, and what is not.

This is the second in a series of miniworkshops and Adriatico conferences devoted to the exciting field of strongly correlated electron systems including quantum Hall effect, metal insulator transition, heavy fermions and high Tc superconductivity. In spite of enormous efforts made by physicists worldwide to solve these difficult problems, many important issues are still widely open and this topic remains the most active field in condensed matter physics.
