Some classmates and I used this book as a supplement to T'ung & Pollard's Colloquial Chinese, and prefer this book simply because the Chinese characters were included with every line.
Very clear explainations on the nuances of Chinese grammar for the newbie, in a condensed. easy to read fashion.
All examples and exercises are in trad. Chinese, simplified Chinese, pinyin (with tone markers), and English, making it easy to see/ read everything on the same page.
