    Det enda negativa jag kan säga om denna bok är att sidorna blir så välfyllda med text att den blir lite jobbig att läsa. Men MacCulloch beskriver på ett levande och personligt sätt de historiska turerna i kristendomens spännande historia.
    Och han gör det så bra!!!

    Författaren gjorde tillsammans med BBC gjorde en tv-serie baserad på innehållet i boken, som är ett perfekt komplement till boken.

    Den här boken borde vara obligatorisk läsning i religion/historia i skolan! 3000 års kristendomshistoria på 1000 sidor. När man läser historia så här komprimerat så blir kristendomens paradoxer och absurditeter väldigt tydliga, och man börjar förstå hur och varför mänsklighetens senare historia ser ut som den gör. Jag bävade lite över de 1000 sidorna innan jag började, men boken är allt annat än torr och tråkig. Diarmaid MacCulloch har en nedtonad humor som glimtar till emellanåt, och de flesta kapitel är så intressant läsning att sidorna flyger förbi som i den bästa deckare.
