    Mästerligt att kunna skapa spännande faktaspäckad läsning baserad på verklig historia där man på förhand vet utgången. Kan verkligen rekommenderas.

    Stalingrad handlar om andra världskriget mest avgörande slag. Beevor lyckas blanda dokumentära rapporteringar med fascinerande personskildringar. Boken är en spännande och gripande historielektion som inte lämnar någon läsare oberörd.


    Jag har alltid funnit att verklighetsbaserad litteratur gör ett betydligt starkare intryck på mig än fiktion, därför faller en bok som Stalingrad mig i smaken. Att tänka att det ligger ett verkligt människoöde bakom alla de tragiska berättelserna i boken är ofattbart. Den misär, kyla, skräck och hjälplöshet som många soldater och civilbefolkningen utsattes för och kände är nästan overklig.

    Stalingrad är en oerhört gripande och skrämmande dokumentation av en tid som inte ligger alltför långt bak i vår historia. Den lyckas påvisa krigets alla sidor och är en värdefull historielektion. Läs boken!
