Beskrivning
This, the second volume of a magisterial commentary on the work of the historian Arrian, deals in depth with a crucial period (329-326 BC) of the reign of Alexander the Great. It discusses some of the earliest datable evidence for the history of Central Asia and Pakistan, and analyses Alexander's views of sovereignty and divinity. Professor Bosworth is the leading authority on Arrian, and his commentary should become a classic work of reference for historians.

Recensioner i media
lives up to the expectations raised by the previous volume ... It is witness to the author's growing affection for his subject ... Bosworth has much of real value to tell the reader of Arrian and the historian of Alexander. ... if the second volume is any indication, we can expect the third and final volume of Bosworth's commentary on Arrian to continue to provide real insight into Arrian's writing and the construction of his history. These volumes will surely grace the bookshelf of any student of Alexander the Great.
