Sidgwick's Ethics and Victorian Moral Philosophy

Sidgwick's work on ethics has dominated British and American philosophy since his time. This study shows how Sidgwick's arguments and conclusions represent rational developments of the work of his predecessors, and brings out the nature and structure of the reasoning underlying his position.
