It has been a pleasure to review this excellent volume. It will prove to be of value to academic and industrial practitioners of organic synthesis. I confidently expect that all reasearch laboratories will contain a copy. I hope that the publishers will be persuaded to standardise the drawings in future volumes - there are even differences within some chapters - so as to achieve a uniformity of presentation. Despite this minor criticism, all those connected with the production of this book are to be congratulated.
