The result is a wide-ranging, comparative volume that provides the latest foci on masculinity from scholars in Europe, the Americas, the Asia Pacific region, and Africa. However, providing the contributing authors the autonomy to identify what they perceive as the latest foci means that the overall volume lacks a common theme, thus rendering any comparisons among countries or regions in a particular area of scholarship rather difficult, if not impossible.
