GILBERT WEISS is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Salzburg. Austria. He is the author or editor of several books, including European Union Discourses on Un/employment ( with Peter Muntigl and Ruth Wodak, 2000). RUTH WODAK is Professor of Discourse Studies at Lancaster University, UK and head of the Wittgenstein Research Centre "Discourse-Politics-Identity" at the University of Vienna.
