CARL LEVY is Senior Lecturer in European Politics in the Department of Social Policy and Politics at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He has published widely and is the author of Gramsci and the Anarchists and has edited Socialism and the Intelligentsia (with Valerie Symes and Jane Littlewood), The Future of Europe, Italian Regionalism, and (with Alice Bloch), Refugees, Citizenship and Social Policy in Europe. - MARK ROSEMAN is Professor of Modern History at the University of Southampton. He has published widely on modern German history and is the author of The Past in Hiding.
