Democratic Control of the Military in Postcommunist Europe

ANDREW COTTEY is Jean Monnet Lecturer in European Political Integration in the Department of History, University College Cork, and Lecturer in the Department of Peace Studies, University of Bradford. He has published widely on European and international security issues. TIMOTHY EDMUNDS is a Research Fellow in the Defence Studies Department of Kings College London. During 2000, he was twice part of a UK-based advisory panel to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence on military reform. He has published widely on issues of civil-military relations and Central Asian politics. DR ANTHONY FORSTER is Research Director in the Defence Studies Department of Kings College London. Since 1999 he has been a Special Advisor to the House of Lords Select Committee on Common Foreign and Security Policy (Sub-Committee C). Dr Forster has published widely on EU-ASEAN relations and the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy and Common European Security and Defence Policy.
