He maintains that, rather than our faith leading us to worship in the Eucharist, instead the Eucharist is literally the shape of our faith. Thus we don’t judge the Eucharist through scripture but vice versa, because scripture is intended to be read eucharistically. It would be hard to read this book and not to recall its ambitious argument each time one participated in the Eucharist."
