This book attempts to identify some principal dimensions of the process of market and job restructuring by means of case studies of service companies. It places special emphasis on the job restructuring issue and, in particular, on the decline of internal labor markets in the U.S. economy.
Thierry J. Noyelle is senior research scholar, Conservation of Human Resources, Columbia University. He is the author of Business Services in World Markets (1987) and coauthor of several books, including Services/ The New Economy (1981), The Economic Transformation of American Cities (1984), and Technology and Employment (1986).
