      Deep Eutectic Solvents highlights well-established research and technology on applications of DESs in corrosion sciences, protein chemistry, and organic synthesis, as well as separation science. This book provides state-of-the-art research that will revolutionize modern practices. Neoteric solvents have been proposed as a better substitute to these harmful organic solvents, and scientists have come up with various neoteric solvents in the last few years like Deep Eutectic solvents (DESs). DESs are defined as a system formed from a eutectic mixture of Lewis or Br�nsted acids and bases with various ionic species- whereas ionic liquids (ILs) consist of a discrete anion and a cation.

      DESs stand out as a greener and cheaper neoteric solvent as compared to ILs. DESs are denser than water and fairly polar, thus can be utilized as non-aqueous substitute to water in many separation processes. DESs have very high distribution coefficient of solutes, and even dissolves gases and metal oxides selectively. They also readily dissolve organic macromolecules, thereby becoming useful in pharmacological applications.

      Prof. Dr. Jawaid Mohammad is currently working as a distinguished professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. He has more than 25 years of experience in teaching, research, and industries. His area of research interests includes hybrid composites, lignocellulosic reinforced/filled polymer composites, advance materials: graphene/nanoclay/fire retardant, modification and treatment of lignocellulosic fibers and solid wood, biopolymers and biopolymers for packaging applications, nanocomposites and nanocellulose fibers, and polymer blends. So far, he has published 100 books, more than 100 book chapters, more than 500 peer-reviewed international journal papers, and several published review papers under top 25 hot articles in science direct during 2013–2020. He also obtained 6 Patents and 6 Copyrights/Industrial design. H-index and citation in Scopus are 101 and 43525 and in Google scholar, and H-index and citation are 120 and 58132. 40 Ph.D. and 17 Master’s students graduated under his supervision in 2014–2024 in the fields of hybrid composites, green composites, nanocomposites, natural fiber-reinforced composites, nanocellulose, etc. He secured various research grants at university, national, and international levels on polymer composites of around USD 3 Million. He also delivered plenary and invited talks in international conferences related to composites in India, Turkey, Malaysia, Thailand, United Kingdom, France, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, China, Germany, Indonesia, Spain, UAE, Portagal, etc. Besides that, he is also a member of technical committees of several national and international conferences on composites and material science. He is founding Series Editor of Springer Three Book Series. He worked as guest editor of special issues of Several Peer reviewed Journals. Besides that, he is also reviewer of several high-impact international peer-reviewed journals of Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Saga, ACS, RSC, Frontiers, etc. Dr. Mohammad Jawaid also received Several Award at National and International Level. He is also Winner of Newton-Ungku Omar Coordination Fund: UK-Malaysia Research and Innovation Bridges Competition 2015. He is also Professional membership of ACS, SPE, APA, MySET, etc. He is Fellow and Chartered Scientist of The Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3), UK. He is also Clarivate 1% Highly cited Researcher-2023.Prof. Bahadur has served as a postdoctoral fellow/visiting scientist at several institutions before joining the Department of Chemistry, North-West University, South Africa, in 2015. He is currently working as a full-time professor in the discipline of physical chemistry. With more than 15 years of teaching and research experience, his multidisciplinary research interests include ionic liquids, DESs, phase equilibria, thermodynamics, corrosion science, biofuels, biomass, and cellulose. He serves on the editorial advisory boards of several national and international journals and has published more than 200 articles in reputed high–impact factor journals, including book chapters and books, with more than 12,300 citations. He is also a member of numerous scientific societies, including IUPAC, ACS, FRSC, SACI, ITS, etc.Dr. Prashant Singh is currently a professor in the Department of Chemistry, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharam College, University of Delhi, India, and a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK. He has nearly 20 years of teaching experience and has completed four research projects from different funding agencies in India. He has published more than 190 research articles/reviews/preprints/chapters, with nearly 4300 citations. His research interests include DFT calculations, molecular dynamics simulations, and electrochemistry to understand the behaviour of small molecules, both with and without macromolecules. He serves on the editorial boards of Scientific Reports, PLOS One, Mitochondrial DNA Part B and has edited special issue in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology-Asia, Molecules, ChemistrySelect. Additionally, he has edited books published by Elsevier, CRC Press, and other publishers.Jamal Akhter Siddique is an Associate Professor at the School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS), Lingayas University, India. He successfully completed multiple Postdoctoral Research tenures around the globe in renowned universities. He earned his Ph.D on “Physico-chemical studies of biological/biochemical systems” in 2007 from the Department of Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University. Apart from direct involvement in research he has also contributed his experience to multiple journals as editorial member and worked as a Guest-Editor for a Special Issue entitled “Nanostructure Materials as a Promising Route for Efficient Renewable Energy Production, Storage, and Conversion”, Journal of Nanomaterials; as a Guest-Editor for a Special Issue entitled “Academic Research for Multidiscipline” in International Journal of Science Technology and Society; and as an Assistant-Editor for Journal of Medical Imaging and Health Informatics.
