Pau Loke Show is the Director of the Center of Excellence for Research, Value Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CERVIE), UCSI University, Malaysia. He has also been affiliated with Khalifa University and the University of Nottingham Malaysia as a Professor of Biochemical Engineering. His research focuses on biochemical engineering, bioprocessing and sustainable applications of biotechnology, with particular interest in algae-based technologies. He has held leadership roles in professional and international bioprocessing organizations and has extensive experience in academic and research collaboration. He is also a professional engineer and technologist and he holds many memberships with engineering and higher-education organizations in Malaysia and the UK.Kuan Shiong Khoo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Yuan Ze University, Taiwan, where he leads the Algae Bioseparation Research Laboratory. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia, and his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham Malaysia. His research focuses on both upstream and downstream processing in microalgal biotechnology and biorefinery. His research also integrated areas including the closed-loop recycling of food waste for biochar and biohydrogen production, microalgae cultivation using wastewater, and AI-driven modelling for data analysis and image processing.Kit Wayne Chew is an Assistant Professor at the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department, United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. He obtained his PhD from the University of Nottingham, where he began his research in sustainable bioprocess engineering for food and pharmaceutical products. His current research focuses on algae biotechnology and the development of cost-effective and environmentally friendly methods for synthesizing functional ingredients. His research interests include sustainable bioprocessing and the utilization of algae for value-added applications.Dr. Renu Geetha Bai is a senior research scientist working at the Chair of BiosystemsEngineering, Estonian University of Life Sciences, Tartu, Estonia. Her current research focus on algal biotechnology which includes waste byproducts utilization (eg: flue gas, torrefaction byproducts), extraction of high value biomolecules from algal resources, development of value added products from algal biomass. Dr. Renu's research interests are biotechnology, nanotechnology, marine algal biomolecules, nanomedicine, anticancer drug delivery, nanotheranostics, metal/carbon- nanomaterials, liposomes, microbiology, molecular biology, tissue engineering, in vitro cell culture (plant, animal, algae), mammalian (cancer & normal) cell culture techniques, environmental engineering, green chemistry, and electrochemical biosensing. Her current research in EMU is a Bluebio co-fund project towards the production of fish feed from microalgae utilizing the flue gas as a waste valorization concept focusing on the circular economy and valorization of biomass.
