    Beskrivning

Current Approaches to Overcome Therapeutic Resistance of Leukemia presents a comprehensive academic resource addressing the persistent challenge of treatment resistance in leukemia. It explores biological, molecular, and clinical dimensions of resistance, bridging fundamental research with therapeutic innovation. The book examines key resistance mechanisms, including genetic mutations, leukemic stem cells, and tumor microenvironment interactions, alongside emerging insights such as epigenetic regulation, metabolic reprogramming, and immune evasion. It further highlights advanced therapeutic approaches, including immunotherapy, targeted therapies, combination strategies, and AI-driven tools for drug discovery and monitoring. This volume provides students, researchers, and clinicians with foundational and integrated knowledge essential for understanding resistance biology and translating discoveries into clinical practice. It supports evidence-based decision-making and promotes the development of innovative strategies to improve patient outcomes.

    • Bridges basic research and clinical translation by connecting mechanistic insights with therapeutic and future-oriented perspectives
    • Integrates emerging therapeutic approaches such as CAR-T cell therapy, PROTAC-based strategies, combination therapies, and AI-enabled drug discovery
    • Analyzes intrinsic and acquired resistance mechanisms, including genetic, epigenetic, metabolic, and microenvironment-driven processes in leukemia

    Mer om författaren

Zhe-Sheng Chen, PhD, opened the St. John’s University’s first cancer pharmacology laboratory. His research interest is multidrug resistance and its reversal, novel anti-cancer drug development. Chen has over 170 papers published, co-edited Protein Kinase Inhibitors as Sensitizing Agents for Chemotherapy book (Elsevier), and holds several patents. Dr. Saurabh Kumar Jha is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Stem Cell Biology at Kalindi College, University of Delhi. He holds an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from VIT University, Vellore, and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology (Neurobiology) from Delhi Technological University. His research focuses on stem cell biology, with particular expertise in molecular chaperones, ubiquitin E3 ligases, and biomolecular therapeutics in neurodegenerative disorders and aging. Dr. Jha has an extensive publication record, with hundreds of research articles in high-impact international journals and multiple book chapters with leading academic publishers. He is the recipient of the Best Stem Cell Researcher Award (2019). He has actively contributed to curriculum development and has supervised doctoral and master’s students, alongside participating in international conferences and professional societies. Dr. Neha Gupta is an Assistant Professor in Biotechnology at Jiwaji University, Gwalior, with a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and extensive experience in research and teaching. She has received multiple awards recognizing her research excellence in biological sciences and has held an international research role in microbiology and molecular biology. Her academic background includes teaching, mentoring postgraduate students, and guiding research projects. Her scholarly contributions include numerous publications, as well as authorship of a patent, a book, and several book chapters. She has actively participated in national and international conferences. Her research focuses on bioactive compounds derived from food, their biological functions, and the application of advanced screening, bioinformatics, and computational approaches.
