Milnors bok har varit av förstklassig kvalitet och ett paradexempel på koncis matematisk framställning ända sedan den först publicerades 1965. Den är fortfarande ett mästerverk att varmt rekommendera för varje student som är på väg från grundnivå till mer avancerad nivå i sitt studium av topologin, men det är synd att just denna utgåva är en faksimil av originaltexten, och därför bitvis plågad av bristfällig tryckkvalitet.
