Dr Midgley describes the construction of Neolithic barrows -- which are up to 300m in length and are found widely in North-West Europe, from Scandinavia to France - and the rituals associated with them.
Dr Magdalena Midgley, who obtained her PhD for her work on European Long Barrows, is Senior Lecturer in European Prehistory, Department of Archaeology, University of Edinburgh. She has excavated at important sites at Bylany, Czech Republic and at Escolives in Burgundy.
