Rosalind Ormiston is an independent art historian, lecturer, writer, and author specialising in art, architecture, and design history. Following her MA (Classical Civilisation) and BA (Hons) History of Art, Architecture and Design, she taught history of art at Kingston University, London. Her many published works include studies on Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, and Hans Holbein the Younger.

No, they aren't the absolutely definitive works on their subjects, but you get a good account by a proper academic of their life and work as well as infinitely better reproduced illustrations than you have any right to expect for the price. This one is slightly more expensive at £16.99, but they're still practically giving it away. 500 images is a lot and, no, they're not all full-page, but it does mean that you get to see a lot of less familiar works, as well as drawings and sketches, and the big-name stuff.
