Zeitgeist Lightning

Zeitgeist Lightning, a collection of new and selected poems by T. R. Hummer from over fifty years of writing and publishing poetry, is a roadmap of a personal journey and of the human world traversed by the author. A substantial group of new poems precedes a curated selection of poems from previous books. Eschewing any chronological order for the earlier poems, Hummer liberates them from their original compartments and allows them to mingle with one another like guests at a party or prisoners in a prison yard. Readers can now experience the body of Hummer's work in a flexible context in which underlying connections, subtexts, impulses, and motives both conscious and unconscious reveal themselves.
