Margot Ann Greenlimb Woolard is an adjunct faculty member in the School of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, director of their Church Organist Training Program, and leader of the Nebraska Church Music Workshops.

This is, of course, a book for all church organists, and for those concerned with a better understanding of historical practice in church music, but it is much more than that; it belongs in the libraries of all who care about the present and future state of congregational singing. A facsimile of the German original was published in 1966, but the present volume is the first complete English translation.
