Terry T. Schaeffer has a doctorate in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley and has spent more than two decades in research on photosynthetic pigments and membrane biophysics. She is currently chemical hygiene officer at the Conservation Center of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
