Along the chain of the Rocky Mountains, which runs from Canada to New Mexico, the mountains in Colorado are the highest 53 peaks over 14,000 feet high and more than a thousand over 10,000 feet. It's been said that if you took a flat-iron to Colorado, it would press out to a state the size of Texas. (But since that would irritate the Texans, no one has yet tried it!)
