Integrated Ultra-Low Noise Microwave Amplifiers

Wynand Lambrechts (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng., M.Eng. (with distinction), and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from the University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa, in 2013. His major field of study was electronic engineering. He has worked as an Electronic Engineer and a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer and is currently a Principal Electronic Engineer (Semiconductors) based in South Africa. He also serves as a part-time Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg, Johannesburg, South Africa. He is the lead author of five technical books in the fields of sustainable energy and microelectronic engineering, all published by international publishers, and has co-authored six contributing chapters in books on green energy, technology, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He has authored four peer-reviewed journal publications and has presented at various local and international conferences. His current research interests include semiconductor design, sustainable energy systems, and microelectronic engineering. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He has been involved in IEEE activities and contributes to research and academic collaboration in the fields of analogue and mixed-signal design.Saurabh Sinha (Fellow, IEEE) received the B.Eng. (with distinction), M.Eng. (with distinction), and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from the University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa. His major field of study is electronic engineering. He is currently a Professor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. He also holds an appointment as Visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg, Johannesburg, South Africa. Previously, he served at the University of Pretoria for over a decade, including as Director of the Carl and Emily Fuchs Institute for Microelectronics, and later as Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at the University of Johannesburg. He subsequently served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research and Internationalisation at the University of Johannesburg. An established researcher rated by the National Research Foundation (NRF), he has authored or co-authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications in journals and at international conferences. His research interests include microelectronics, 5G/6G telecommunications, and artificial intelligence. Prof. Sinha is a Fellow of the IEEE, the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE), and the South African Academy of Engineering (SAAE). He is also a Member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf). He has served the IEEE as a member of the Board of Directors and as IEEE Vice President of Educational Activities.Abadahigwa Bimana, SMIEEE, passed away in 2024. He received the “Diplȏme d’Ingénieur” degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Kinshasa in 1988, with distinction. He joined Telecel, the first African mobile operator in 1989. In 1993, he received the “Diplȏme de Mastère” degree in microelectronics (VLSI) from Télécom Paris Tech in Paris, France. From 1995 to 1999, he worked for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in South Africa where he was primarily engaged in the design and development of communication systems. He joined Alcatel-Lucent in 1999 as senior development engineer and has since held several positions within the company. He held an MBA and a Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering (microelectronics) from the University of Pretoria. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a Senior Research Associate at the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, University of Johannesburg.
