Migration Statecraft

Applying realist constructivist theory, this innovative book investigates the migration–development nexus in the European Union’s approach to cooperation with its external partner countries. It explores the reasons why action in this field appears to be irrational and counterproductive and surveys contemporary political dialogues and funding.Combining migration and development policy research, it examines policies and practices on both an international and domestic level.
