Applied Psychology

Applied Psychology supports you in taking your knowledge of psychology outside the classroom and into the real world. You will learn how each profession aims to improve outcomes and offer solutions to problems associated with human behaviour.

Covering the professional fields of practice identified by the BPS (such as clinical, counselling, educational, forensic, sport and exercise, occupational) along with newer areas like environmental psychology, this book introduces you to theoretical ideas and research and explores how these can be applied to professional practice.

Each chapter features case studies of psychological interventions, questions and activities to encourage critical thinking, and 'a day in the life' experiences of professionals working in the field to ensure you understand the links between theory and application.
