    Beskrivning

Trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC), is a life-threatening complication affecting severely injured patients. This text covers TIC's pathophysiology, risk factors, TBI-associated coagulopathy, diagnostic tools, transfusion prediction scores, and management strategies along with insights into cutting-edge diagnostic approaches. Looking towards the future, it discusses emerging innovations in trauma care and concludes with valuable lessons from a retrospective analysis offering both regional perspective and global implications for improving trauma care protocols and patient survival for clinicians, trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, and healthcare researchers. Key FeaturesOffers an in-depth analysis of trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC), including its mechanisms, diagnostic tools, and management strategies, serving as a comprehensive reference for improving trauma outcomes. With TIC being a major contributor to preventable trauma deaths, this resource addresses the growing need for targeted, evidence-based approaches among trauma care professionals.Includes a rare retrospective review drawing on data from national and international experience and perspectives to inform trauma care practice.

Her work focuses on trauma care, coagulation disorders, neurosurgery, and infectious disease epidemiology. She earned her Ph.D. in Laboratory Medicine, studying early markers of trauma-induced coagulopathy in severe traumatic brain injury, contributing to the understanding of early coagulation changes after brain injury. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at international forums, including the World Congress of Neurology. She has received several recognitions, including a young researcher award and multiple travel fellowships. Dr. Albert has been involved in national research initiatives under the Indian Council of Medical Research, including fungal disease registries and foodborne pathogen surveillance. She has contributed to scientific publishing through the Indian Journal of Medical Research, served as Guest Editor for a special issue in Clinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis (CATH), SAGE Journals, and is currently the Associate Editor for the Journal of Pediatric Neurosciences. Her interests include diagnostics, translational medicine, and predictive analytics to improve trauma care and public health.Dr. S. Arulselvi is a distinguished professor and researcher in the field of laboratory medicine, with a specialization in trauma-induced coagulopathy. Other interests include post trauma cognitive changes, trauma immunology and pathology. She is currently serving in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Center, AIIMS, New Delhi. With over two decades of academic and research experience, Dr. Arulselvi has made significant contributions to understanding the pathophysiology and management of coagulopathy in trauma and critical care settings. Her extensive research portfolio includes over 200 publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, reflecting her expertise in hemostatic abnormalities, blood component therapy, and diagnostic innovations in coagulation disorders. She has been actively involved in developing clinical guidelines for managing coagulopathy and optimizing transfusion strategies in critically injured patients. Dr. Arulselvi is a dedicated mentor and has guided numerous postgraduate students, research fellows, and clinical scientists in laboratory medicine and transfusion research. She is also a key investigator in several studies on trauma-induced coagulopathy and has contributed significantly to national and international collaborations in trauma research.Dr. Deepak Agrawal is currently a professor of neurosurgery and Gamma-Knife at AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr. Agrawal has a keen interest in research and innovation and is co-inventor of the world's cheapest and smallest ventilator named AgVa. He has seven patents to his credit.
