Beskrivning
The Routledge Handbook of Community Sport offers an interdisciplinary, international examination of how community sport is understood, designed, delivered, governed and evaluated, critically exploring its contribution to health, wellbeing, inclusion, social capital and community resilience.Bringing together leading researchers and practitioners from diverse cultural, geographical and political contexts, the handbook equips readers to understand the complex, evolving nature of community sport and to respond to the opportunities and challenges it faces. Its four-part structure integrates conceptual and critical frameworks with practical insights into program design and delivery, impact and evaluation, policy, governance and future directions. Chapters examine inclusion, volunteer management, leadership, organisational sustainability, infrastructure, digital transformation, health and social outcomes, funding, partnerships, climate challenges and decolonisation. Through interdisciplinary perspectives, international examples and evidence-informed approaches, the handbook enables readers to critically assess community sport practices, design more inclusive and sustainable initiatives, evaluate outcomes and navigate the changing policy and organisational environments in which community sport operates. This handbook will be useful for established and emerging researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, educators and professionals across sport studies, health promotion, education, public policy and related disciplines. It will also be an essential resource for community sport leaders, coaches, volunteers, program designers, local councils, non-government organisations, professional and multi-sport organisations, policymakers and funders seeking to develop, deliver, govern or evaluate inclusive, impactful and sustainable community sport.
