KYRIAKI HADJIAFXENDI is completing her PhD on George Eliot at the University of East Anglia, UK. Her published work includes articles on Nineteenth-century art, literature, philosophy and print culture. She is the co-editor of three special issues on the American culture industry of image-making for the European Journal of American Culture (2005). POLINA MACKAY has published work on Burroughs, punk literature and art and contemporary southern fiction.
