Seraina Plotke is a senior lecturer in Medieval and Early Modern Literary Studies at the University of Basel, Switzerland. Her main fields of interests include media history (especially aspects of manuscript culture and early printing), historical narratology, gender studies, and historical semantics. She is the author of two monographs and a number of articles on emblematics and visual poetry as well as on medieval narrative phenomena. Her current research projects deal with the humanist city of Basel in the 15th and 16th centuries.
