Together with Jules Verne, Wells has been referred to as "The Father of Science Fiction". "Twelve Stories and A Dream" is a collection of short science fiction stories compiled over the years from works Wells had submitted to various magazines. It includes titles such as "The Magic Shop," and "The Stolen Body."
