It covers how to make sure students know what they are learning and why they are leaning it; the relationship between Big6 problem solving and information available from research; strategies for teaching each Big6 step (task definition, information seeking strategies, location and access, use of information, synthesis, and evaluation); and activities for integrating the process into existing classroom activities and content in math, science, and social studies. Lesson plans are included. Needham, a certified Big6 trainer, is an educator who has experience as a high school business education teacher and elementary librarian.
