12 Wardens, 20 Stories, 300 Years of North Woods Law EnforcementBeing a game warden in Maine (which has the oldest game warden service in the U.S.) is not a job, it’s a way of life. Wardens go through the same law enforcement training as all police officers, as well as additional training to prepare them for their work in field, and they all share an inherent love of the outdoors. These gripping stories from twelve former and current wardens with more than 300 combined years of experience drop you into the thick of things, chasing poachers, hunting murderers, rescuing lost hikers, or recovering drowned boaters.
