Born and raised in Canada, Peter received hisundergraduate and Master’s degrees from McGillUniversity. His focus on behavioral ecology andcoral reef ecology led him to two field seasons atBellairs Research Institute in Barbados, in 1999and again in 2002. After graduating in 2003,Peter moved to the United States and began acareer in science communication and writing,publishing in both peer-reviewed academicjournals and the popular press. He has written ona variety of coastal ecosystem issues, includingextensive work surrounding the science of oceanacidification. He is a PADI Rescue Diver with over300 dives in 19 years of experience. Born and raised in the U.K., Ian earned hisundergraduate degree in oceanography from theUniversity of Plymouth in 1994. He worked for fiveyears at Bellairs Research Institute in Barbados,supporting research projects across the region,before completing his Master’s in marine biologyat McGill University in 2004. He co-founded amarine biology education company, BeautifulOceans, before founding Reef Smart in 2015 toraise awareness and encourage people to explorethe underwater world. Ian has published in boththe scientific and mainstream media, includingNational Geographic, Scuba Diver Magazine andthe Globe and Mail. He is a PADI Dive Master withover 3,000 dives in 25 years of diving experience. Born and raised in Romania, Otto graduated fromthe University of Art and Design in Cluj, Romaniain 1991. He moved to Canada in 1999 where hestudied Film Animation at Concordia Universityin Montreal. In 2006, Otto turned to underwatercartography and pioneered new techniques in3D visual mapping. He co-founded Art to Mediaand began mapping underwater habitats aroundthe world. Throughout his 25-year career, Ottohas received numerous awards and internationalrecognition for his work, including the Prize ofExcellence in Design from the Salon Internationaldu Design de Montréal. He has also illustratedseven books. Otto is a PADI Advanced Diver withover 500 dives in 15 years of diving experience.
