    Khara L. Pence Turnbull, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia in the Curry School of Education and the Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning, with an appointment in the Preschool Language & Literacy Lab. Kharas interests are in language and literacy development, particularly for children who are at risk for language and literacy difficulties.Laura Justice, PhD, is Professor in the School of Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University (Columbus). A clinical speech-language pathologist, Justice is interested in early literacy development and intervention for children who have language difficulties. She has published a number of peer-reviewed papers on this topic as well as several books, including Clinical Approaches to Emergent Literacy Intervention.
