Beskrivning

Evocative stories of wild turkey hunting capture the lure and lore of America's greatest game birdAs a young man, Archibald Rutledge hunted extensively around the South Carolina plantation where he grew up. From his many encounters with wild turkeys—and from the lengthy periods of reflection during his searches for the elusive bird—he grew wise in their ways. This collection, assembled by award-winning outdoor writer Jim Casada, gathers thirty-four of Rutledge's finest turkey-hunting stories. A master of mood and setting, Rutledge invites the reader to share in the quiet anticipation and breathless uncertainty of the sport. These tales will enthrall—and perhaps even instruct—experienced hunters. Despite recent changes in the turkey population and the laws governing the bird's pursuit, Rutledge's stories remain timeless accounts of a beloved American sport.
