    Beskrivning

Taste and See is a beautifully illustrated book that helps children discover God’s goodness through the story of food in the Bible and the greater story of redemption in Jesus.Written by Irene Sun and illustrated by Hannah Y. Lu, this lyrical picture book uses the theme of hunger and feasting to guide children through Scripture, from the fruit in the garden and manna in the wilderness to bread and fish by the Sea of Galilee and the marriage supper of the Lamb. Set as a narrative poem to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” it offers young readers a memorable way to see how God provides for his people and satisfies their deepest needs.Created for ages 4–7, Taste and See helps children understand that the truest fulfillment of their hunger is found in Jesus, whose love and sacrifice are remembered in the bread and wine of the gospel story. Part of the Biblical Theology for Kids series, it also includes a resource page for parents, making it a strong choice for families who want to introduce big biblical themes in a way that is accessible, Christ-centered, and easy to revisit.

"This delightful book offers tantalizing visual and theological glimpses of the way God mercifully feeds his people ultimately in Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life. It will send us back into the Scriptures to fill out the story and to share it with the young ones around us!"Kathleen Nielson, Author; speaker"Food is a delight to our senses. We see it. We smell it. We taste it. We enjoy it. It's a God-given gift that demonstrates his goodness, mercy, and love throughout the pages of Scripture. Irene Sun's new book, Taste and See: All about God's Goodness, invites children to understand a biblical theology about food and how it points us to Jesus. Filled with beautiful illustrations, this book will delight the senses as it teaches timeless truths."Melissa Kruger, Author; director of Women's Initiatives, The Gospel Coalition"I would so enjoy reading this book with my kids. Irene Sun did such a good job guiding young readers through the biblical story! I know my kids would love getting this book in the mail."Collin Hansen, Vice President for Content and editor in chief, The Gospel Coalition"With creativity and wisdom, Irene has written a delightful book for your kiddos to enjoy. You won't be able to get the lyrics out of your head and you won't want to!"Laura Wifler, Cofounder of Risen Motherhood; author of Any Time Any Place, Any Prayer"With both theological insight and creativity, Taste and See is sure to stimulate great conversation with your kids about how God's Word talks about food from Genesis to Revelation."Ruth Chou Simons, Mom to six boys; Wall Street Journal bestselling author, founder of gracelaced.com"With perfect cadence and rhyme, these tasty truths about God's story of redemption are sure to stick with those who read them. Like a delicious meal, this book is memorable and filling. I cannot wait to feast on its contents with my family again and again!"Hunter Beless, Founder of Journeywomen and author of Read it, See it, Say it, Sing it (B&H Kids)"Irene Sun invites her readers to taste and see the abundance of the Lord's love for his children! With captivating illustrations and sing-song rhyme, the truths of God's good love will be hidden in the hearts of old and young alike."Courtney Doctor, Coordinator of Women's Initiatives, The Gospel Coalition; author of From Garden to Glory and In View of God's Mercies"When reading Irene's first book, God Counts, I thought of my oldest son and how as a young child, he was enthralled with number. Now in Taste and See, I think of my middle son, who remembers special memories by recalling what he ate for the occasion. Though an everyday necessity we rarely consider thoughtfully, food tells the gospel story. Children's mouths will water as they read Irene's book, giving parents an opportunity to connect their child's thirst and hunger to the Bread of Life. What a beautifully written resource!"Christine Hoover, Author of Seek First the Kingdom"Taste and See is a theologically rich and inviting look at God's ongoing care for his people through his provision of food. By reminding readers that God feeds his people as an act of mercy and grace throughout Scripture, Irene invites children and adults alike into deeper wonder and worship of their Provider."Amy Gannett, Founder of Tiny Theologians; author of Fix Your Eyes: How Theology Shapes our Worship"In Taste and See, Irene uses rollicking rhymes to take us on a journey from the forbidden fruit in Eden to the tasty feast awaiting in heaven. The point that rings as the pages turn is that one way God has chosen to unfold the beautiful story of his goodness to his creation is through food."Blair Linne, Poet; speaker; author of Finding My Father: How the Gospel Heals the Pain of Fatherlessness"In a delightful rhyme, Irene Sun leads us from Genesis to Revelation, highlighting God's merciful provision of food to his children. She helps us realize that our ultimate satisfaction is not found in the sweetness of a cookie, but in the person of Jesus himself. This is bound to be a favorite for both children and parents! "Taste and see the Lord is good. All our needs he understood."Stacy Reaoch, Pastor's wife; mother of four; coauthor of Making Room for Her"This book will help every child and adult grasp the goodness of God and his gracious provision for us! In moving, beautiful poetry, Irene reminds us of the story of the Bible and God's consistent nourishing of his people. She leads us to the work of Christ, our longing for the coming wedding feast, and our daily food of the Scriptures themselves. Hannah's illustrations give delight and teach as good art does. It's a wonderful combination. This book will help you taste and see; repeated reading will help you savor."Taylor Turkington, Director of BibleEquipping; Bible Teacher"Children need milk (basic nourishment) and honey (sweetness and beauty). Irene Sun's latest children's book offers both in heaping spoonfuls. Tracing God's intent to satisfy and sustain his children from creation through the fall and redemptive history and into glory, Taste and See offers our children biblical theology that delights both their hearts and their eyes. We can think of no one better to instruct little ones about God's saving work and the role that food plays in his invitations to sinners. We recommend this book wholeheartedly."Doug and Wilma Sweeney, Beeson Divinity School, Samford University"Taste and See is a delightful invitation for both young and old to feast on the goodness of God. The illustrations and rhymes will make this book a nightly favorite with a lifetime impact."Jen Oshman, Author of Enough about Me and Cultural Counterfeits"God understands our needs and invites us to taste and see that he is good a wonderful truth to teach children and an encouraging reminder for their parents! This book creatively uses our felt need and desire for food to show us that our greatest need and desire is met in Christ."Winfree Brisley, Editor for The Gospel Coalition"Irene has a gift for crafting fresh retellings of the grand story of God, tracing God's themes through God's Word. Taste and See truly made me want to taste and see, with eyes of faith, that the Lord Jesus is good! And, by God's grace, it will do the same for you and your children."Kristen Wetherell, Mom of two; foodie; author of Humble Moms
