Doctor as patient

Dr Marsh, who neglected his own health while treating patients, gains a patient's insight on medical care when he becomes a patient with life threatening prostate cancer. In well-written layman terms, he reflects clearly with intellect and emotion about his oncoming death. He blends in well knowledge about how the body (especially the brain) functions along with his own emotional roller coaster ride. It's a page turner.
