Starfish Stays Still

Starfish lives on a rock in a very busy cove, where waves crash and creatures busily scuttle here and there . . . but Starfish stays still. Always. While the ocean does what oceans do, with waves sloshing, fish zooming and seagulls scrapping – Starfish remains steady and still. And when a storm arrives and the world feels too loud and overwhelming . . .  Starfish stays just as still!  Eventually, other sea creatures notice her stillness and they learn to be calm, too . . .at least for a little while.  Featuring bestselling author-illustrator Philip Bunting’s signature charming characters, witty text and playful repetition, Starfish Stays Still is part of the Wise-ish Tales series – playful, story-led introductions to big ideas that children will want to read again and again. Through a cast of charming animal characters, children will discover a gentle message about stoicism and managing emotions, even when things feel chaotic. Also available in the series: Duck, Duck, Honk!
