No Surprises, Please!

August the fox doesn't like surprises. Not one bit . . .August prefers quiet, safe activities like reading or making something beautiful. His friend Suzy the squirrel, on the other hand, loves running, jumping and getting up to all sorts of wild adventures. So, when Suzy announces that she has a surprise planned just for him, August's imagination runs wild. What if she comes by with something big and scary? What if she takes him somewhere loud and crowded? What if she makes him do something difficult? As his worries grow bigger and bigger, August begins to imagine the very worst. But when the surprise is finally revealed, August discovers that reality is far kinder and more wonderful than he could ever have imagined, because Suzy understands him better than he ever realised. Filled with warmth and playful humour, No Surprises, Please! is a joyful story about friendship, understanding and the ways good friends learn to care for one another.
