She can’t say what she wants.Navy feels invisible: her life has already been mapped out by her ambitious, loving Indian parents, while at school she’s often mistaken for one of her two best friends – also from immigrant ‘brown’ families. When a new fascination with art history leads her to reflect on her identity and where she belongs, Navy starts to question everything she thought was important. An emotionally engrossing, coming-of-age story about a teen girl navigating parental and cultural expectations.'Both sharply observed and achingly relatable – a novel that finds emotional truth in the everyday messiness of who we were, are, and will be' Mansi Shah, bestselling author of A Good Indian Girl
