Beskrivning
"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."When Elizabeth Bennet first meets Mr Darcy, she thinks him arrogant and conceited. When she later discovers that he has scuppered the relationship between his friend Bingley and her sister Jane, she is determined to dislike him more than ever. In the sparkling comedy that follows, the family’s lives are turned upside down as Jane Austen shows the folly of judging by first impressions and pokes fun at the affectations and etiquette of provincial life.

Recensioner i media

"There’s much to commend this elegant swish through a most-loved story." - Public Reviews "This version of the classic Austen tale has a charm of its own." - The Stage"It’s a brave soul who takes on the task of adapting Pride and Prejudice... But Simon Reade’s interpretation of the love lives of the Bennett sisters will please diehard Austen fans, preserving swathes of conversation rather than dumbing them down, while still presenting a light romcom that makes for a hugely entertaining evening." - London Magazine"Reade’s fluid version adroitly balances plot essentials and detailed scenes." - Financial Times"Reade is delightfully alert to the comic and ironic nuances of Austen’s sparkling prose." - Mail on Sunday"Simon?Reade’s jolly Open Air Theatre adaptation is big on Austen’s wit and zingy one liners." - Time Out (London)"Simon Reade has done a thoughtful, intelligent job." - Guardian
