      Jack Carlsen is Professor of Sustainable Tourism at Curtin University, Western Australia and Founder and Co-Director of the Curtin Sustainable Tourism Centre. He has an extensive research track record, which has produced more than 200 scholarly publications on various topics related to tourism planning, markets, development and evaluation. He was leader of the Sustainable Enterprises research program for the Sustainable Tourism Co-operative Research Centre and leader of the Technical Team that developed the Maldives Third Tourism Master Plan 2007-2011. His other books include The Family Business in Tourism and Hospitality (CABI 2004), Global Wine Tourism: Research, Management and Marketing (CABI 2006) and Innovation for Sustainable Tourism (Goodfellows Publishers, in press) Richard Butler was educated at Nottingham University and the University of Glasgow (PhD Geography 1973), and spent thirty years at the University of Western Ontario in Canada as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Geography, and then the University of Surrey, where he was Professor of Tourism from 1997 to 2005. He is currently Emeritus Professor of International Tourism in the Strathclyde Business School, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. He has published a large number of journal articles, fourteen books on tourism and many chapters in other books. His fields of interest are the development process of tourist destinations the impacts of tourism, carrying capacity and sustainability, and tourism in remote areas and islands. Girish Prayag, PhD, is a lecturer in Marketing in the Department of Management, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. His research interests are broadly related to destination management, tourist behaviour, emotions and sustainable tourism. Within such topics, his research is focused on emerging markets and island destinations. Being a native of Mauritius, he has published several papers on marketing issues for the island such as destination image, place attachment, visitor satisfaction and sustainability. His work has appeared in leading tourism and marketing journals such as Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Business Research and Current Issues in Tourism. - Malcolm J. M. Cooper PhD LLM is Emeritus Professor, Graduate School of Asia Pacific Studies, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Beppu, Japan. He teaches tourism management and environmental law. Formerly Vice President for Research and International Affairs, he is a specialist in tourism resource management and development (natural, cultural, social), and environmental and water resource management, and has worked and published widely in these fields. He has lectured at a number of universities in New Zealand, Australia, China and Sri Lanka, and has worked in the environmental planning (City Planner, 1985-1994) and tourism policy (1983-1985) areas for Federal, State and Local Governments in Australia. At other times he has been a private environmental planning consultant in Australia, and a tourism education consultant to the Governments of Sri Lanka, China and Vietnam. He is a recipient of the Australian Centennial medal and has published over 150 books and papers.
