   Mycket välskriven och detaljrik biografi över en framstående engelsk författare som hamnat oförtjänt i skuggan. Livstecknaren Coustillas har ägnat tiotals år av sitt liv med att ingående studera Gissing. Han har mycket att berätta och glömmer allt som oftast nytt stycke! När förlaget har gett ut ett sådant beundransvärt verk, och det till ett relativ högt pris, är det konstigt att man inte har med några illustrationer. En litteraturförteckning hade heller inte varit helt fel. Dock, är man förtjust i lite bortglömda engelska författare är det sånt man får ha överseende med!
