Beskrivning
Land for the People? covers a previously neglected period which saw the formative legislation and policies which continue to shape Highland life. Drawing on a wider range of sources, both public and private, than hitherto, Ewen Cameron delivers an impartial corrective to so many previous emotional studies. Both crofters and landlords emerge from scrutiny with more ambiguous reputations than previous hagiographies and demonologies have been prepared to allow.
