Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse

Mrs. Tittlemouse keeps a tidy wood-mouse house in a bank under a hedge, with sandy passages and nut-cellars among the roots. Beetles, a bee, and Mr. Jackson the toad drip mud and ask for honey until she turns them out and scrubs. House-pride wins: she spring-cleans and gives a party without the messy guest. Potter's short tale of manners in a hedge.
