Roads of Destiny

Poet David Mignot leaves Vernoy after a quarrel and meets three roads; each path, from forced marriage under the Marquis de Beaupertuys to Paris intrigue or a quieter return, tests whether destiny can be chosen. Spoken as when every fork still leads to the same hard question about who decides your end.
