Paul grew up in rural Western Australia, devouring historical fiction, science fiction, and fantasy books and movies from an early age. In adulthood, his love of these genres and dissatisfaction at the lack of quality films of that ilk led him to turn his hand at writing his own science fiction/adventure film screenplay. Later, he wrote another short screenplay about a man suffering from Alzheimer's, a topic close to his heart. He was then inspired to write a single scene as if from a novel, and it eventually became The Blackwater Chronicles, which will be published soon. Paul lives in Perth with his wife, Linda, and dog, Sammi.
