Teri A. Hamill, PhD, is professor of audiology at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she teaches AuD students. She has been a professor for nearly 25 years and also has worked clinically in a hospital setting. Dr. Hamill developed an interest in digital signal processing and instrumentation circa 1988 during her post-doctoral work with a company that created a (commercially unsuccessful) digital hearing aid. (The processor was the size of a cigarette pack.) She teaches courses in basic sciences, research methodology, and electrophysiology.
