This is an in-depth report on the endotrivial modules, an important class of modular representations for finite groups. Following the historical development of the theory, the book starts with a review of the necessary definitions and some key examples.
Nadia Mazza completed her PhD at the Université de Lausanne in 2003. After postdoctoral positions at the University of Georgia in Athens (USA) and in Aberdeen (UK), she joined Lancaster University (UK) as a lecturer in pure mathematics in 2008. To date, she has published about twenty research articles on endotrivial modules, and collaborated with ten remarkable mathematicians on the subject.
